Chef Iverson graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, South Carolina, and then headed west.
When Chef Iverson first arrived in Utah, he began his four year tenure as Executive Chef at The Viking Yurt in Park City. Working under the most demanding conditions in a restaurant accessible only by sleigh, Chef Iverson had no running water or electricity in his completely open kitchen. As a result of the amazing dining experiences which he created for guests of The Viking Yurt, Chef Iverson’s work received acclaim from The Food Network, The Discovery Channel, NBC’s Today Show, and The Travel Channel. While working as Executive Chef at the highly acclaimed Café Diablo in Torrey, Utah, Chef Iverson guided the restaurant towards a multitude of awards, including Salt Lake Magazine’s “Best Fare in the State.”
Chef Iverson had the distinct honor of serving as an Executive Chef in Athens, Greece during the 2004 Summer Olympic Games. He worked beside other celebrated chefs in the USA House: the official United States Olympic Committee’s primary hospitality venue.
Chef Iverson joined the cast of America’s most-watched outdoor show, ESPN’s “Offshore Adventures,” in the winter of 2005. He continues to showcase his skill for cooking small game today by cooking on ESPN’s “American Gun Dog.”
In addition to being an incredible chef, Iverson is a masterful instructor as well. Chef Iverson’s confident yet approachable demeanor is rare amongst those in his trade. He patiently shares his passion for cuisine with ardent enthusiasm. The Atkins Nutritionals Corporation, executives from companies such as Nike, Inc. and celebrities such as Chevy Chase, Lisa Kudrow, Molly Sims, and Peter Fonda are among those fortunate enough to have sat in on Chef Iverson’s cooking classes.
Iverson currently owns and operates Iverson Catering, with locations in Charleston, South Carolina and Park City, Utah. He enjoys traveling, skiing, and bicycling in his free time.
